What up oppo? So there's a pretty good chance that I might go check out an 04 Daytona 600 this weekend. Anybody have any experience riding them with ideas as to what I should look out for? Also why on earth are there no aftermarket exhausts for the bike? The stock one is about a mile long wtf

Isn’t the exhaust in the picture an aftermarket Akro?

Get a car, I know too many people either killed or badly injured. All it does is make life harder in everyone around you. Up until ten years ago I had a Ducati. I still have a 1966 Vespa 150 Super in storage.

Already have a car. Have an 06 z that I've had for 5 years now. Looking to get a bike for my weekend commute

I've looked everywhere online and can't find any aftermarket support for the bike. I think that exhaust is just carbon wrapped with an akro sticker :/

Well I found this video but didn’t see much for sale from common retailers. It’s an older model so your best bet might be forums.

I wouldn’t worry about exhaust, stock is fine. I don’t understand the MC community obsession with aftermarket exhaust.
First bike? Have you taken the MSA beginner course?

1st bike took msf course last year and aced it. Been riding for a year now on my dads heritage softail whenever I can. Eh I’m just not crazy about the mile long stock exhaust

glad to hear you took the MSA course and have been enjoying riding....guess what you can’t see from riding position ;)
It’s a good bike, looks clean and well cared for and I hope it’s as nice as it looks. I love the Triumph triples, though I’m sure this would be just as much fun! Running 100 hp at 10k rpm is certainly grin inducing!

I know, just saying I love the triple as it’s what I think of when I hear/see Triumph. Still, the 4 is a damn good time!
To me the triple is the best balance of all engine types in motorcycles. Smoothness and High rev power of i4's with the usable low end of a twin. First time I rode a Speed Triple was at a dealer Triumph event...if the guy hadn’t warned me about the twitchy throttle I might have embarrassed myself! It is an amazing powerplant, can’t wait to try the Yamaha triples.
AMGtech - now with more recalls!

Don’t know anything about that specific model, but every triumph I’ve ridden has been great. Definitely worth checking out.

My first bike love, 04 Daytona. I had one as my first bike some years ago, never ridden a bike before. Got it during work lunch, left it in the parking lot. Rode it around the lot a few times and had someone follow me home.
A few things to know about the Daytona 600: Electrical goblins EVERYWHERE. Check all electrical stuff is fine, flip to high beams, look for non-functional dials, horn, etc etc. I had to replace the entire main harness/relay for mine, however that was more of a personal project than a need. Make sure the chain doesn’t have too much play, ask when it was replaced along with sprockets. The usual stuff, my one suggestion is to seriously pay attention to the electrical stuff. Most british things have electrical issues lol. As far as exhausts go, yeah there’s some but there aren’t many. Mine already came with one, but it had a jerry-rigged connection which I ended up throwing out for the stock exhaust. All in all, there’s not many bikes like it. I have an 848 right now, which is supposed to be all this and that, but I honestly miss my Triumph and have been wanting another Daytona - so if this one is in good condition you should seriously consider it. Plus, how many Daytonas do you see around?

Couldn’t agree more. And that triple sound is so unique as well, reminds me of the Yamaha Police motorcicles.

Don’t you dare make a frowny face for an I4. Thats like someone telling you a car with a V6 is a fun car and you going “Aw shucks, this car has a V8!”
